Advertising Position & Initial Screening 📢

We advertise available positions on SEEK to ensure fair and open access to all applicants. You can also find updates and new opportunities via our Facebook page, where we regularly post roles as they arise.
Applications can be submitted in the following ways:
• Online via SEEK
• By email to our recruitment team
• In person by dropping your resume to our office at 62a Capper Street, Tumut NSW
We welcome applications from skilled workers across a range of industries. Referrals from current staff are also encouraged and appreciated
Our recruitment team will review all resumes and contact those that are suitable for the role to be invited to an interview. During contact we may ask to verify your work rights, identification and availability.
Interview & Assessment 👥

Candidates who progress past initial screening will be invited to attend an interview, either in person or via video. At GLS, we prefer to meet face-to-face whenever possible, as it allows us to better understand your communication style, body language, and overall fit for site placement.
During the interview, we’ll discuss:
-
Your work experience and skill set
-
Relevant certificates and qualifications
-
Your preferred work style and site environments
Reference checks may be conducted following the interview, depending on the role and client requirements.
Pre - employment Testing 🧪

To ensure all candidates are fit for placement and meet our safety standards, GLS requires successful applicants to complete pre-employment functional testing and drug & alcohol screening.
These assessments are conducted by accredited providers and are designed to:
• Confirm your physical capacity to safely perform the inherent requirements of the role
• Ensure compliance with our clients’ zero-tolerance policies regarding drugs and alcohol
• Support a safe and productive work environment for all staff
You will be advised of the testing location and requirements during the recruitment process. A clear result is required before any placement can proceed.
Compliance & Induction ✅

Once you've successfully passed your drug & alcohol screening and demonstrated that you are physically capable for the role, GLS Labour Hire will guide you through our compliance and induction process to ensure you're fully prepared for site placement.
This process includes:
• Documentation & Verification
We’ll collect and verify your licences, certificates, and any site-specific requirements — such as white cards, forklift tickets, or other role-relevant qualifications.
• Uniform & PPE Issue
You’ll be issued with the appropriate uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) required for your assigned site.
• Site-Specific Inductions
We coordinate all mandatory inductions required by the host employer, including safety briefings, access protocols, and operational procedures.
• Policy Acknowledgements
You’ll be briefed on GLS policies including workplace conduct, reporting procedures, and confidentiality expectations.
This ensures every worker we place is compliant, site-ready, and confident in their role from day one.
Training & Placement 🎓

At Gilbert Labour Solutions, we go beyond simply filling positions — we focus on placing the right people in the right roles. Our Training & Placement process ensures every worker is matched to a job site where their skills, personality, and team fit will allow them to thrive.
The Placement Process
• Right role, right site: We carefully assess each worker’s strengths and character to ensure they’re placed in a role that suits both their abilities and the team environment.
• Smooth integration: On arrival, workers are introduced to their team, shown around the site, and guided through site‑specific practices that may not be covered in standard inductions.
Training on Site
• Safety first: Every worker is shown the safety measures and protocols specific to their site.
• Hands‑on learning: Workers are trained in the tasks they’ll be performing, ensuring they understand not just what to do, but how to do it safely and effectively.
• Adaptability: We provide guidance across different tasks so workers can build confidence and flexibility in their roles.
Why It Matters
By combining thoughtful placement with practical, on‑site training, we create a workforce that is confident, capable, and ready to contribute from day one. This approach strengthens teams, improves productivity, and ensures long‑term success for both our clients and our workers.
